Renewed Faith

The Lord has been dealing with me about my faith lately. I grew up in a church that really emphasized the power of faith. I will never forget the miracles I have heard about, witnessed, and experienced personally. However, the older I have grown, the more I have let the world get in the way of my faith. I believe in my heart for healing, restoration and grace, but do not confess these things with my mouth. I have let my situations dictate my faith. Yesterday, I was watching a really interesting teaching on faith, and something the minister said struck the core of my soul.

His entire message was powerful. I took extreme care to listen and capture mental notes. But at one point, He read a scripture that I have heard a thousand times out of a different translation. In the Amplified version of the Bible, Hebrews 11:1 reads:

“Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a] the title deed) of
the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see
and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact
what is not revealed to the senses].”

When you own a car- all the payments have been made- you receive a title to that car. It’s yours. As long as you want to own it, that car will not be taken away from you. When Jesus died on the cross, we received a title to the things we need in faith. Catch that- we have a title deed through our faith. I have known for years that we have to name those things that are not as thought they exist already; that’s what the Word of God teaches. But when I heard this I really grabbed a hold of the awesomeness behind it. The price has already been paid!! We have a title to the things we need when we stand on them in faith. They may not always come to us in our timing, but when we are faithful to believe and trust, we will receive those things we ask for in faith.

A few years ago, warts covered Jeremy hands. There were probably 50 or more on either hand. We tried everything in the natural to get rid of them. It just seemed to make them worse. They were mostly unsightly and uncomfortable in his construction job, but after a few months, they began to cause him a lot of pain. When winter came, it was especially difficult because his hands cracked and bleed. One summer Sunday, the Lord really began to move in our worship service. It was one of the few times our church had been in one mind and one accord. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit was undeniable. I was worshiping the Lord when Jeremy tapped me on the shoulder. He was crying and, at first, I assumed he was being moved by the spirit of what was taking place. He showed me his hands and I thought to myself, “Ok, he pulled me out of my worship to show me his hands.” I must have looked confused because he said, “The warts…. They’re gone.” I hadn’t noticed because his hands looked so normal. They had literally disappeared before his eyes.

God is good. I want to challenge you as I have been challenged to step out in faith. Get some sticky notes and find all the scripture you can about faith and post them all over your walls. Make confessions daily and really believe for things you are praying about. And on a last note, you do not have to beg God for anything. The Scriptures tell us to come BOLDLY to the throne room of God. A coward begs, a victor confidently believes that what the Lord says to them will be granted.

Love to you all!

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for all of Your many blessings. Help me Lord to receive them in faith. Lord, help me to remember that the promises You make to me can never be broken- they are “yes” and “amen”. I stand on Your Word today and believe that when You tell me I can ask for things in Your Name and be given them, I believe You.
In Jesus Name, Amen.

Scripture References:

Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)

NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Mark 11:22 (NIV)
"Have faith in God," Jesus answered.
Romans 4:17 (NIV)
As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.
Romans 8:28 (NIV)
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
1 Peter 4:11 (NIV)
If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Love LIFE (LoveIsForEver):

We all have a crisis if faith at one time or another. If you are single, really seek out a special someone who can be a rock for you in a time you need it the most. If you are married, thank God for a godly spouse who can be the back bone of your family. (This might be an instance of declaring it in faith.) And in the end, remember that you really can rely on God to supply all your needs- and your wants.
